The Fifth Exit was conceived as the Unofficial Welcome Center of Fort Collins during the first lockdown of the respiratory pandemic in 2020.

After the initial stay-at-home order was lifted, Sam Cranshaw, Chelsea Gilmore, Maya Ortega, Chad Seidel and Baxter Long collaborated to organize a Drive-Through Art Show with over forty local artists and musicians to give the community a safe place to showcase and experience creativity in a time of separation and uncertainty.
